Normal 0 false false false EN-AU X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Our society has become very heavily energy dependent. It’s evermore vital to harness sources of clean and renewable energy.

The main focus of earlier eras was to maintain shelter and to find food in order to sustain ourselves and our families. Most of the energy used was our own, commonly known as manual labor.

We as human beings have an incredible resource in that we are fully capable of renewing our energy needs for as long as we live. Food and water are our main source of energy, chemical reactions taking place within our bodies to fuel our daily activities.

The term renewable energy is somewhat of a misnomer, because all energy is eventually renewable. It’s just that the time needed to renew some forms of energy is far too long; like a few millennia too long!

The most familiar source of energy we must consider non-renewable are fossil fuels. These chemical soups containing many hydrocarbons capable of releasing energy were formed millions of years ago by the forces of nature and geological forces pushed them underground where their energy and their toxins were out of reach; until humankind found a way to capture and utilize their potential.

Unfortunately, we have recently become aware of the negative result of releasing this energy. It is toxic contamination of our air. The energy released in the use of fossil fuels is not pure like the sun. Toxins within the fuels are released when the fuel is burned, which results in over abundant chemicals released into the air.

In small amounts, which until now were controlled y nature, the toxins are neutralized or degraded over time and cause little or no serious damage. Now, however it is their rapid sustained release, which is the root of our global environmental crisis.

Fossil fuels will run out, of that there is no debate. It is vital to develop clean, renewable energy sources to replace our use of fossil fuels before it is too late.

Since the early beginnings of mankind we have been using and have possessed the knowledge for the use of energy such as wind, fire, water and the sun. A gesture as simple as moving out of the shade and into the sun’s light is using renewable energy; moving where it is warmer to increase your comfort level is using renewable energy.

Science and insight have combined over the evolution of our society to better utilize renewable energy resources. The most frequently seen today are wind and solar energy, followed closely by geothermal and biodiesel.

Movement of the wind is the factor that creates energy and hence the energy we enjoy. Most people don’t give much thought to the air because it is invisible to the human eye. Vague memories of science classes remind us that air is composed of oxygen, but we might not recall that it also contains many other elements as well.

These tiny molecules are not subject to the laws of gravity that we are bound to observe. The molecules are free wheeling independent agents. Their movement is know as wind and generally moves in the same direction as the Earth’s rotation but at a slower rate. Mankind understands this as wind.

The better utilization of renewable energy resources and the information in this site on how you can access the material about how to make a windmill and use the wind to mechanically move a machine that will generate electricity, supplying you with a free, safe and renewable energy resource will save you money and make our world a better place to live in.
