Solar Panel Ventilator
solar power system help, please? DIY?
I have the intention to build a solar-powered fan. I have several questions. If 12v dc use only one solar panel (PV module), how many fans (CPU fan) I can operate? Do I need a battery and a charge controller? What input DC? How I can configure the system with the basic equipment to operate this project solar powered fan of mine? Tips and links to other websites are appreciated. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. P / S: I'm not an electrician or an engineer in any field of engineering. I just want to learn and invent something for the sake of inventing only.
Very general answer. What do you think it is difficult if you want it perfect. If you want to do quick and dirty for fun, could be a clean bill. A CPU fan is a bit much power, as it is very well balanced and low energy. Try to get some information on the fan. Only I'm guessing, but is bound to be much less than 5 V DC. If you want to play, get some rechargeable batteries. See how many batteries connected in series, which takes to power the fans. The fan has a little cable. One wire is positive and one negative. You may find that from 4 rechargeable batteries, can run from one to four fans for a certain period of time. Try a parallel configuration and see what happens. Use the solar panel to charge the batteries. Use the batteries feed the fans. The reason is that the fans then always turn to his usual pace, and can be rotated, even in the dark. Get a good sense of what positive influence and the negative of the battery and cables. Be careful not to damage the panel by using positive and negative influence improperly. Good luck.
