sage software

Accounting is for accountants and what’s worse is they want to keep it this way, so it’s not really suprising that people similar to me who run a small business and cannot and don’t want to spend money on an accountant uncovered the shortcut I want to share with you here. People in small businesses tend to prefer doing more important activities like getting, listening to and keeping customers as opposed to looking after their bookkeeping. Bookkeeping is a ‘chore’ that very few people relish doing but should be attended to on a consistent basis to avoid problems.

I asked my bookkeeper for guidance and he convinced me I should use Sage Software which turned out to be a small business accounting software package. Without even looking at software I blindly went ahead and purchased the cheapest system I could find. This was definitely one of the worst mistakes I made as the application turned out to be really hard to comprehend and use. To be frank whenever I find the word accounting together with the word software I am immediately reminded of the first lesson I need to share with you and that is just about all small business accounting software makes the assumption the user possesses good practical knowledge of accounting.

Just like me small business people are masters of their craft and the product or service they sell and not accounting but in my situation I was driven to devote time to finding a system that would work for me. The great news is I discovered a really excellent answer, it’s an internet system known as salesorder.com.

This is definitely the easiest software I have ever found and what’s more it is net based and therefore I can use it from anywhere I want to work. Better still and the third piece of advice I want to share with you is that the people who work at salesorder.com are not just very knowledgeable of their service but they know a tremendous amount about the issues of running a small business and have taught me the bookkeeping I need to know.
